Last week, fifteen (15) Creators (the) bees of the Nectar of the Sertão network participated in the XXV Seminar North Of Livestock (PECNORDESTE), at the Ceará Events Center, in Fortaleza. PECNORDESTE seeks to contribute to the training of rural producers, students and entrepreneurs.
In its twenty-fifth edition, the Seminar had a technical-scientific program involving seven segments of the livestock production chain: Beekeeping, Aquaculture and Fisheries, Poultry, Bovine culture, Caprinovinoculture, Equine culture and pig farming; e, fruit growing areas, cashew culture, Floriculture and Agroindustry, through the realization of lectures, round tables and workshops.
This was the first edition that included the meliponiculture programming demonstrating the growing potential of this production chain. Lectures were held, workshops and wheels of conversations about the sector. Wow Director of Programs, Aurigele Alves, mediated the lecture "Meliponiculture Cearense: Success stories". Cicero Jair, which operates in meliponiculture and beekeeping integrated with Family Agriculture in Cariri; Francis Ximenes, Meliponicultor of Sítio São Francisco in Aquiraz; Nilesh Acharya, Meliponicultor, Beekeeper and member of the Nectar Network of the Sertão; e, Hiara Meneses, President of the Ceará Association of Meliponicultores (ACMEL) collaborated with that moment.
In addition to the lectures, the group visited the stands in the exhibition area, interacted with other participants, accompanied technological innovations, expanding the individual and collective view of the opportunities inherent to the activity of meliponiculture, that is constantly advancing.
To Tiago Cerqueira, our Project Analyst, pecnordeste's programming focused on the honey production chain had positive effects, opportunistic many exchanges of knowledge. "The presence of producers of the Nectar do Sertão Network in PECNORDESTE was very significant for meliponicultores, reinforced the positive image of the group as a success story in the Curu Valley region. They were excited by the recognition of the audience present. This further stimulates engagement and good prospects for the future of the collective", highlights.
Since 2015, we support the creators (the) of bees of the Nectar network of the Sertão, initiative that seeks conserve the Caatinga and strengthen local production. Our activities with the Nectar do Sertão Network include, research, study and meetings to strengthen the bonds between participants.
The participation of the Nectar do Sertão Network in the event was supported by the Caravan Coordination of PECNORDESTE and the Secretary of Agriculture of Apuiarés. PECNORDESTE is promoted by the Federation of Agriculture and Livestock of the State of Ceará (FAEC), by the National Rural Learning Service of Ceará (SENAR/CE), by the Support Service for Micro and Small Enterprises in the State of Ceará (SEBRAE/EC) and rural unions.
